Serendipity July 2006

In order tom practice for the Four Wheel Drive Club Jamboree (which was cancelled that year) we decided to go to the Serendipity 4x4 Trail to practice in the Cruiser. We also visited Nylsvlei, the bird and animal sanctuary nearby.

We used our Vango tent that we got in England in 1980.

After setting up camp we went for a little drive.

That evening we had a cheery fire.

The next day we went off exploring and here we are shown going along a river bed.

The trail is pretty.

Some parts are rocky.

A Coral Tree in flower.

More rocks.

Tight corner.

This really rips the tyres and had it not been for the thought of Jamboree practice I would have preferred to avoid this type of trail.

A little stream crossing.

Rough descent.

A lovely rock pool.

A sight of a Wildebees.

Further along the trail.

Another pool.

Tsessebe at Nylsvlei.

Roan Antelope at Nylsvlei.

Serendipity is an interesting technical trail but can be hard on tyres.
