After visiting the Mountain Zebra National Park we went to Port Alfred, Knysna, Jongensfontein and Riversdale. I have chosen a few of the pictures to share with you.

For the light house supporters this one is north of Port Alfred and visitors are shown around by the lighthouse keeper on visiting days. (Weekends we found our are not this type of day.) We were taken up to the top where we looked at all the bits and their workings were explained. I never knew that the light mechanism was suspended in mercury as that made an excellent bearing. Bit then on reflection I know little about lighthouses - in fact almost nothing.

This is a plaque commemorating the light house's centenary.

Views on approaching the lighthouse.

Our vehicle at the entrance gate which is closed on days when tourists might visit.

From Port Alfred we went on to Addo National Park but it was full - not even camping space available.

So then we went on to Thesen Island in Knysna where we stayed with a friend. The houses look beautiful in the water reflections on a calm day.

While we were in the area we went to a beautiful restaurant just south of Knysna on the turnoff to Buffelsbaai called Niqua Choo Choo. It is at S34.03721 E22.94023 and well worth a visit. The food is beautifully served and there are lots of interesting things to see.

This is one of the dining room settings. There are a few houses each with differently decorated rooms containing lovely objects.

My breakfast the first time we visited.

Another beautiful setting.

My breakfast the second time we visited.

A beautiful blue theme.

And a red theme.

After Knysna we went to visit friends in Jongensfontein. This is a lovely place near Stilbaai.

It was Saturday 27 February 2010 when we saw this March Lily. We were told that they usually flower on the first day in March - hence the name.

After the weekend we went on to Riversdale where we stayed on a farm and visited the town.

This is a picture taken in the Old Jail which has been set up as a tea garden and serves a a local market on Saturdays.

Another shop in one of the cells.

Just around the corner from the Jail at S34.09233 E21.26306 is the Julius Gordon Afrikana Centre and here Sylvia and Aletta are standing at the entrance. This centre has a number of interesting objects and some lovely paintings and drawings. I am sure that few visiting people are even aware that this place exists.

A display cabinet in another room.

Next stage was Cape Town.
