On the evening of Tuesday 27 October 2009 members of the Land Cruiser Club Southern Africa (LCCSA) who had ordered and paid for expensive torches were invited to a delivery party. Members who had not ordered or paid for torches were also allowed to witness the delivery, hence Sylvia and I were there.

I like to go to as many events as possible as I enjoy meeting the members, some of whom post on the LCCSA web page. Also after a long while I sometimes remember their names. That is the reason for slips of paper with their names on so I have some idea who they are when I look at the pictures later.

This occasion, organised by Jan Blom, was like a little Christmas Party. Parents will know that gifts received have to be paid for and over time this does not detract too much from the excitement.

The meeting place was The Brazen Head - a pub near Fourways and I happened to notice just one of the many interesting signs shown below:

Attendees were:

Pete Williams

Freddy Viviers

Jan Blom

Trevor Chamberlain

Gareth Owens (Who had the misfortune of sitting beside me.)

Jacques and Susan Greyling

David Germiquet

Eugene Koekemoer

Robin Wybrow

Koos Fick

Having a chat before the deliver of presents.

Complex stuff - lots of batteries.

More handing out.

Looks just like Christmas.

Well if you think about it some people are terrified of the dark - but four torches?

Lovely to be in the company of the rich.

Even better it is nice to be with old and new friends and hear what they are planning to do.

Thank you Jan for allowing us to be with you on this delivery occasion.
