The Land Cruiser Club Southern Africa (LCCSA) Krugersdorp Game Reserve B&B

GAUTENG B&B - MOST CRUISERS CHALLENGE!!!! 19 SEPTEMBER!!!

This page will probably only be of interest to LCCSA members as it mostly contains snaps of many of the attendees. Most are identified (they wore name tags) or I guessed who they were or in some cases still do not know who they are and I hope someone will send me the relevant information. (I will need a copy of the picture and the name/s sent to my e-mail address. Alternatively you could right click on the picture and chose "Properties" and copy and paste the "Location" to me. Thank you in advance.) If you wanted (I am not sure why) to see an enlarged version of the picture you could paste the aforementioned "Location" into your browser and change the /s288/ in the address to /s720/ and you should see the enlarged picture. Because of the large number of snaps posted on this page I have not made the large thumbnails below clickable to automatically enlarge.

Also attached are some snaps of a few of the animals we saw.

The Krugersdorp members Andre and Alec should be very proud of the tremendous turnout. More effort goes into some of these shindigs than at first meets the eye.

We decided to camp in the reserve for the weekend as the gathering was planned to end after dark on Saturday and this also made a little holiday of the event for us. We arrived on Friday and left on Sunday. The cost was R350 for the two nights and taking everything into account it was good value for the money.

Some time ago it became an accepted tradition that we bring some of our secret "sauce" to these gatherings but as there were expected to be around seventy vehicles I was reluctant to promise we could satisfy all those mouths so did not promise to bring any sauce along. However we planned to try and make some at the venue. Doug Fear will vouch that what the sauce lacks in taste it makes up for in shirt staining power. Secret unmarked packets were opened and the contents surreptitiously stirred into the concoction while it gently simmered. Later during the day some brave people dared to try some with their victuals.

The attached pictures are added in the order that they were taken.

Many women probably are very jealous of other women whose husbands have Land Cruisers - dreaming of the luxury they enjoy. This is not always the case however.

If you have a very fast camera you might be lucky enough to find a Land Cruiser with a bonnet open with people peering at the bits. There is a commonly believed myth that this only happens with other makes of vehicles.
